Aftercare

Pre-Treatment Advice

Skincare Treatments (All Facial Treatments)

Stop the use of the following 1-2 weeks prior to your skincare treatments • Retinols or harsh exfoliators including topical and oral capsules • The use of sunbeds 1 week before • Avoid excessive Alcohol, Aspirin, NSAIDs (ibuprofen, Aleve) Garlic, Gingko Biloba, Fish Oils and Vitamin E for 5-7 days prior to your treatment unless recommended by your Doctor. This may help to decrease the risk of bruising during your treatment, but is not contraindicated. • Blood Thinning Medications if you are having a micro-needling / BB Glow Treatment

Stop the use of the following 3 months prior to your skincare treatments • Acne Medications – oral or topical

Permanent Make Up – Brows

Before your session, you need to avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, omega 3 supplements, & spicy foods for 48 hours, this is because they can thin the blood, and increase the likelihood of bleeding, which can mean colour retention is not so good.

Please avoid caffeine and heavy workouts for 12 hours prior, for the same reason.

Electrolysis should not be performed less than 5 days prior in or near the treatment area.

AHA/Glycolic/Retin A preparations should not be used for 2 weeks prior to treatment, this includes oral and topical use.

Chemical/Laser on the treatment area should not be performed 6 weeks prior to treatment.

There is no need to wax, tweeze or thread your brows before your visit, as I will do this for you as part of the shaping process. If you do wish to tweeze or wax, please do so at least 48 hours before. Botox or fillers should not be performed 4 weeks before or after your treatment.

Many clients like to visit with freshly washed hair, so that they do not need to worry so much about getting their new brows or make up wet for a few days. This is not essential but can make life easier during the first few days of aftercare.

Permanent Make Up – Lips

Please give your lips some TLC for a few days before hand and use lots of lip balm or Vaseline to prepare the skin for your treatment.

You can use a toothbrush to gently brush your lips to help remove any dry skin and moisturise well. This will improve the outcome of your colour. If your lips are too dry or cracked, you will not be able to have treatment.

Lip treatment will not give you cold sores if you do not already carry the virus, but it is very likely to trigger an outbreak if you do. You may carry the virus even if you have never had an outbreak. It is strongly advisable to take a short course of antiviral medication (Acyclovir tablets) for 3-7 days before and after your treatment to prevent this from happening. This is ESSENTIAL if you are a cold sore sufferer. These can be easily obtained on prescription from your GP, or from many UK registered online pharmacies that provide a prescription service.

Lip fillers should not be performed 4 weeks before or after your treatment

Waxing Treatments

• Allow at least 1 week, preferably 2, between any shaving/depilatory cream use and a waxing treatment. This is to ensure hairs are of a sufficient length to be removed – at least 4 mm. However, the longer they are the less it hurts! We recommend around 1 cm. • Refrain from using body lotion or moisturising body washes on the day of your waxing treatment as they may prevent the wax from being applied and removed efficiently. • Wear old high-cut briefs for Bikini, Brazilian and Hollywood Waxing treatments. • Please note that any fake tan will be removed when the area is waxed. • Stop the use of all retinols, acids such as glycolic, salicylic and other anti-ageing or harsh exfoliants 7 days before treatment • If you are taking acne medication (oral or topical), you cannot be waxed for a minimum of 3 months • No sunbeds or direct sunbathing for 7 days before treatment • No invasive skincare treatments 7 days prior if you are having facial waxing

Spray Tanning

• Take a nice hot shower or bath the night before and give your skin a good exfoliate. This will help to get rid of any dry skin, leaving behind the perfect blank canvas for an even tan. This is also the perfect time to complete any hair removal! • If you want to shower before your spray tan on the day of your appointment, make sure you do it a few hours in advance, so your pores have time to seal. No dark spots here! Also, don’t wear deodorant to your appointment – it could react to the spray tan liquid and leave a mark. • While we love makeup, we’d suggest that you arrive at your appointment fresh-faced for an even application. If you’re fitting a spray tan into your busy schedule, try taking along some makeup wipes to cleanse your face before your session.

Laser Tattoo Removal

• Avoid the sun 48 hours before treatment and 2 weeks after treatment. Also, avoid fake tan two weeks prior to treatment. • The treated area cannot be tanned or sunburnt • Avoid taking anything that may thin the skin in the treatment area such as acne medication, retinols, vitamin A and other harsh exfoliating acids. • If have had a history of cold sores, Zovirax may be used prior to treatment and continued one week after treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

Avoid the sun 48 hours before treatment and 2 weeks after treatment. Also, avoid fake tan two weeks prior to treatment. You MUST avoid bleaching, plucking or waxing hair in-between treatments. • Do not use hair removal creams 1 week prior to treatment. • If have had a history of cold sores, Zovirax may be used prior to treatment and continued one week after treatment. • You MUST shave the area the day before your treatment, if you arrive without shaving, we may not be able to treat you.

Brazilian Booty Lift & Body Contouring Treatments

• Ensure all tan has been exfoliated off the skin • No creams or moisturisers are to be applied to the treatment area 24 hours before • Start drinking plenty of water before treatment

Salt Saline Tattoo Removal

Cryotherapy

• In the days leading up to your appointment, it is a good idea to give a wart or verrucae a bit of TLC! • The treatment works best when the skin covering these lesions is soft and slightly opened. Follow the steps below to allow the treatment to work effectively: • Soak the lesion in a bowl of warm, soapy water for 20 minutes • With a pumice stone or emery board (nail file), gently scrub the lesion until the skin becomes rough. • Please do not scrub so hard that you make the area sore. Discontinue these steps if bleeding occurs. You are not trying to open a wound or cause discomfort. However, the more deeply the jet of nitrous oxide can penetrate, the better the chances of removal after one treatment are.

Post Treatment Advice

Brow Lamination

AFTER TREATMENT • Do not touch or rub your brows. • Don’t apply any make-up to the area for 24h. • Avoid getting the brows wet for 48h post treatment (this includes swimming, saunas, sweating at the gym and sunbeds).

MAINTENANCE • Set when wet & style into shape. • Oil nightly to nourish your brows. • Condition them when in the shower with standard hair conditioner. • Brush daily with care. • Use oil based make up remover to remove make up GENTLY

HD Brows & Henna Brows

IN THE FIRST 24-48 HOURS • Avoid excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24h. • Avoid contact with direct sunlight, and the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 48h after your treatment. IN THE FIRST 3 DAYS • Avoid exfoliating (both acid exfoliators and scrubs) and anti-ageing products around the brow area for three days either side of your treatment • Avoid fake tanning products on the face for three days either side of your treatment

After these time frames, feel free to carry on as normal

HOW TO REDUCE REDNESS AFTER BROW WAXING & THREADING? REDNESS AFTER EYEBROW WAXING AND EYEBROW THREADING IS COMPLETELY NORMAL AND A COMMON SIDE EFFECT.

It’s simply a slight irritation of the follicle from where the hair has been removed and should subside over the course of the day. There’s not much you can do to speed up the time it takes to settle, but there are things you can do as part of your eyebrow threading aftercare which should help

AVOIDING THE USE OF EXFOLIATORS (such as scrubs and glycolic acid) AND/OR ANTI-AGEING SKINCARE (such as retinols) for three days either side of your brow treatment will help to reduce any skin sensitivity. If you have naturally sensitive skin, please let your stylist know and they will be able to apply a barrier to protect the skin when waxing. • If you’re prone to those pesky spots or bumps after waxing, it’s best to AVOID TOUCHING THE TREATED AREA AND APPLYING MAKE UP FOR 24 HOURS. Your pores are more open following a hair removal treatment, so touching the area or covering any redness may lead to clogged pores PLEASE NOTE Oil make-up remover and exposure to sun/UV lights for long periods can cause the tint to fade quicker. Although redness, bumps and slight sensitivity are completely normal after your treatment, it’s important to contact your brow stylist immediately if you experience any swelling, itchy rashes, bruising, grazes or cuts

Skincare Treatments (All Facial Treatments) AFTER THE PROCEDURE • Avoid sweating and excessive heat for 3 days post procedure, such as exercise, saunas & steam rooms. • Do not have any other facial procedures for 2 weeks after micro-needling / skin peels / BB Glow

IN THE FIRST 72H • No make-up for 24 hours post procedure (48 hours for BB Glow). • No Botox, collagen injections or dermal fillers. • No sun exposure, sun beds, or heat treatments. • No swimming, facial waxing, or fake tanning.

GENERAL CARE DURING THE HEALING PHASE • Make sure to moisturise regularly post treatment. • Use SPF 30+ at all times post procedure.

IMPORTANT Do not apply AHAs, Glycolic or Retinols, anti-ageing or exfoliation products for 1 week pre & post treatment

Permanent Make Up – Brows

IN THE FIRST DAYS YOU MAY EXPERIENCE THE FOLLOWING VERY NORMAL SYMPTOMS: Minor swelling and redness, mild tenderness, itchiness in the eyebrow area, dry flaking skin

IMPORTANT NOTES

YOUR SELECTED COLOUR WILL BE STRONGER and more sharply defined for 0-14 days after application but as the healing process occurs the colour will soften and lighten. YOUR BROW ENHANCEMENT WILL LOOK VERY ASHY in your healing stages as the skin is shedding, pigment will have faded significantly, but don’t panic. Your pigment will softly reappear through. THE APPROXIMATE HEALING PERIOD IS 14 DAYS However healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised if you are generally stressed and by poor diet. SOME UNEVENNESS OF COLOUR IS TO BE EXPECTED This is the purpose of your review appointment allowing us to fine tune your brow enhancement.

DAILY CARE TO FOLLOW FOR 10 DAYS ON THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE, DON’T APPLY ANYTHING TO THE BROW ENHANCEMENT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY 1. TO HELP THE AREA HEAL you must DAB the area with lukewarm water using a cotton pad. Once dry gently apply a pea size of AFTER INKED balm to the area using a cotton bud and repeat this procedure every morning and night. 2. WHEN WASHING YOUR FACE please ensure you go around the area and to not splash the face with water or products. 3. KEEP HAIR AWAY from the area to prevent possibly infection. 4. SOME ITCHING IS NORMAL. Do not pick peel or rub the brow as the colour may heal unevenly and you could rick infection, which in turn could lead to scarring. Allow the colour to flake away by itself.

5. NO FACIALS. Do not receive any facial beauty treatments for 10 days after procedure. 6. NO MAKE UP should be applied closely to the brow area for 3 days

AVOID FOR 2 WEEKS • Do not expose the brows to direct sunlight, tanning treatments, jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, and direct shower spray. • Do not receive eyebrow tinting, waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments close to the brow region

LONG TERM CARE

• Use a good high factor sun-screen. Sun exposure will fade your brows. • If you are planning a chemical peel, we advise not until 4 weeks after your review appointment and to advise your practitioner you have permanent make up. • Please inform the national blood service if you donate blood, as you may not be eligible to give blood for 4 months post application. • Always read the ingredients in your skincare products. Ingredients such as Retin, Vitamin A, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid (a lot are in acne, anti-ageing products) will fade your brow enhancement

Permanent Make Up – Lips

• Gently blot the area with a clean tissue every 5 minutes once oozing has stopped. • Keep the area dry for 24 hours. • Drink from a straw for the first day and avoid salty, spicy foods. • Apply thin layer of ointment 3 times a day. FIRST 10 DAYS • Avoid steam rooms, sauna or pool. • Do not put make-up on the tattooed area. GENERAL CARE DURING THE HEALING PHASE • Try not to lick your lips too much post procedure. • Do not use a washcloth, pick or scratch the tattooed area. • Try not to get toothpaste on the tattooed area whilst they are healing.

Eyelash Extensions

FIRST 4-6 HOURS Keep your eyes dry and avoid contact with water.

FIRST 48 HOURS • Avoid steam rooms, sauna or pool. (The extensions need that amount of time to properly bond.) • Do not touch or mess with lashes.

GENERAL CARE • Use an eyelash extension cleanser on your lashes daily to avoid day to day build up of dirt and oils. • Don’t use oil based products around your eyes. Only use water-based eye makeup remover. • Don’t use an eye lash curler on your extensions. • Avoid mascara. • Try to avoid steam rooms and saunas. (Excess heat will loosen the lashes.) • Don’t pick or pull out your lash extensions. We offer a professional removal service if you would like to remove them The natural life cycle of a lash is approximately 60-90 days. To keep your lashes looking their best and fullest, we recommend follow-up appointments every 2 to 3 weeks

Lash Lift & Tint The great thing about a Lash Lift is that it is a very low maintenance procedure however, there is a little extra care required over the first 24-48hrs. • Be gentle with your lashes; no rubbing. • Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hrs. • Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes. • Use of Sauna/Steam is possible after 24hrs but may weaken the effect of the lift. • No eye make-up for 24 hours. • Avoid waterproof mascaras. • Swimming should be avoided for at least 24hrs. • No other facial beauty treatments for 24hrs.

Spray Tanning After your spray tan, don’t worry if you’re looking a little darker than you expected. The spray tan solution and guide colour continue to develop over the next few hours, but after your first shower, these will wash away to reveal your beautiful tan.

• Apply a moisturiser each day to keep your skin soft • Avoid Chlorine, Retinols and harsh exfoliants • It is okay to use normal body washes • Avoid Waxing & Shaving (this will remove your tan)

Laser Tattoo Removal If a dressing has been applied after your treatment, this should be kept on for no longer than 48 hours. All heat trauma and friction to the tattoo needs to be avoided for at least 72 hours or until you feel your skin is comfortable. Heat trauma and friction to avoid includes any hot water, saunas, steam rooms, aerobic activity, and tight clothing. The area must be kept clean and dry until fully healed to avoid the increased risk of scarring or infection. The area can be washed daily with luke-warm water but must not to be soaked in a bath. You cannot go swimming until the area has fully healed.

Laser Hair Removal Immediately after treatment, there may be redness and swelling in the treatment area, this may feel like mild sunburn.

• The application of iced water during the first few hours after treatment will reduce any discomfort. • The application of Aloe Vera gel can continue at home • Avoid makeup immediately after the treatment. • Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks to reduce the chance of hyper pigmentation or darker pigmentation. • Always use sunscreen SPF 30 or greater throughout the course of treatment. • Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. Do not use any other hair removal treatment methods (waxing, electrolysis, or tweezing) that will disturb the hair follicle at the treatment area for 4-6 weeks after a course. • Shaving or depilatories may be used. • Hair re-growth occurs at different rates on different areas of the body. New hair growth will not occur for AT LEAST three weeks after treatment. • Anywhere from 5-19 days after the treatment, shedding of the surface hair may occur and this appears as new hair growth. This is NOT new hair growth. You can clean and remove the hair by washing or wiping the area with a wet cloth or Loofa sponge. • After the underarms are treated, use a powder, instead of deodorant, for 24 hours after the treatment to reduce skin irritation. • Avoid hot baths and heat treatments and treat the skin gently, as if you had sunburn, for the first 24 hours.

Brazilian Booty Lift & Body Contouring Treatments Drink H20 Be loyal to water drink at least 2 litres of water after your treatments this will help your body eliminate the unwanted fat cells from your body. Your results will be increased if you stick to these 5 days following your treatment. Say No to Alcohol Since your liver is involved in the process, it needs to fully cooperate after the treatment. Taking in alcohol is never a good idea because your liver will first remove the alcohol from your body instead of the deactivated fat cells. Drink more water instead. No Caffeine You’ve been advised to increase your water consumption to at least two litres per day. When we say water, that’s none other than H20. Coffee, juices, tea, and carbonated drinks are excluded from the list. It is important to keep your body hydrated to help your skin recover fast and help your body remove the broken-down fat cells. Drinking coffee and other beverages that contain caffeine can dehydrate the body rather than rehydrate it. Cool Bathing We advise that you shower with cool water. But if you really want something warm to rinse your body, a lukewarm bath is okay. Keep in mind that the water’s temperature shouldn’t be too high. Hot temperature could aggravate the condition of the skin that has been through intense radio frequencies and delay its recovery. No Junk Food It’s completely a no-no to eat fatty and unhealthy food right after your radio frequency skin tightening session. Give your body time to heal. Light Exercise We recommend very light exercise after your treatment; a brisk walk usually does the trick. Squats and Lunges will dramatically increase the results. No Sunshine Radiofrequency and cavitation energy plus UV rays would be too much for your skin to absorb. Tanning after a treatment could cause your skin to be more sensitive and increases the likelihood of damaged cells. We recommend no direct contact with the sun or sun beds for at least 24 hours.

Salt Saline Tattoo Removal It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.

1. KEEP AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover with a Band-Aid or anything else, leave open to air. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. CLEANSE THE AREA 4x a day with Saline. Dampen a paper towel or cotton round with Saline and blot the area 4x daily. Make sure you wash your hands directly before cleansing the area. 2. DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry. 3. NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TOBS, TANNING, OR EXERCISE. NO EXCEPTIONS. 4. DO NOT disrupt the scabbing process (i.e., no picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off, you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results. 5. TREAT AREA WITH TLC. DO NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL THAT COULD CAUSE ISSUES OR PROBLEMS TO THE TREATED AREA. 6. ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop of Li-FT® Heal Care Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Li-FT® Heal Care Oil UNTIL all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off. It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off. If you do not have Li-FT® Heal Care Oil, you can substitute with Vitamin E Oil. 7. LIPS please drink all liquids with a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off. Brush with Toms of Maine or Classic Crest (no whitening, no peroxide toothpastes. Cut food into small bite. No biting into a sandwich. Try to keep mouth expressions to a minimum. ❖ It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done. No exceptions ❖ Lightening unwanted pigment can be a long process and patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a saline lightening product or laser. Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible and wanted results in 2 to 5 sessions. How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted, the location, the skin type and how much needs to be lightened for the desired result. In many cases only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened and then we can continue the correction process by colour correcting or color shifting. In those cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, colour correcting will not be an option and lightening as much of the pigment as possible will be our ultimate goal.

❖ Results cannot be foreseen, predicted, or guaranteed. ❖ If you have any questions or concerns, please call us. If at any time you have any green or yellow puss in the area of the lightening procedure, or any concerns at all during the healing process please call us immediately.

Body Massage & Holistic Treatments • Rest and relax for 12 hours after treatment. Practice deep breathing and relaxation techniques. This will help ensure that the body is able to heal itself sufficiently. • Drink lots of water to help flush out toxins from the body. • Avoid sunbathing or sunbed treatments unless all the oil is removed in case the skin burns. • Do not eat a large meal immediately after a treatment because this will cause blood to be diverted to the gut to help with the digestion of food. This will divert energy away from the healing process. After an hour light meal such as fruit and vegetables make ideal snacks. • Avoid coffee, tea, and colas for 24 hours as they contain caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant and therefore will not help you to relax. • Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours as the treatment is a detoxifying one and drinking will introduce toxins. • If you smoke: reduce your intake and set a long-term goal to quit. Seek support from: smokefree.nhs.uk. • Avoid other holistic treatments for 24 hours to enable your body to rebalance and recover; allowing the healing process to make some headway before your body is exposed to more therapy. • As part of your ongoing aftercare advice, you may have been given postural advice, stretching or mobility exercises. Make sure you follow your therapist’s advice carefully. • To receive the maximum benefits from your therapy, follow a healthy lifestyle: eat a healthy balanced diet; aim to get 8 hours sleep per night; exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time and take time to enjoy a hobby or interest. • Return for regular treatments to maintain the benefits from your therapy. You have just experienced a treatment. As a result, you may experience one or two of the following reactions: • Tiredness / fatigue • Exacerbated symptoms • Thirst • Headache • Heightened emotions • Aches & pains • Nausea • Frequent urination These reactions are nothing to worry about. Your body has just been stimulated and is responding to the treatment by ridding itself of toxins and working to heal any problem areas that have been treated. Symptoms will normally subside within 24 hours.

Cryotherapy Blisters: Blistering can happen with any cryotherapy treatment and is indiscriminate. The Cryopen is the most effective way of avoiding blisters as we are only treating the affected area and not healthy tissue. If a blister does appear, please don’t pop it. It will go down on its own. If it pops, weeping may occur. If so, use a smear of Savlon or Germolene cream twice a day. An adhesive dressing such as a plaster can be used to cover the area to protect it.

Skin Tags: These turn black at the base and drop off over a period of one to six weeks. Larger skin tags of 3mm+ may need a second freeze. Please contact us after six weeks if they need to be retreated. If the area does become tender, you can use use Savlon or Germolene twice a day. A plaster can be used to cover the area to stop the treated area being irritated by clothing rubbing on it.

Warts and Verrucae: It is recommended if they are still there, warts and verrucae should be re-treated 4 weeks after your first treatment. There is no aftercare apart from if the treated area develops a blister.

Milia: These are superficial keratin filled epidermal cysts and normally flatten and disappear with Cryotherapy quite quickly. There is no need to do anything other than follow the blister advice if one appears

Pigmentation and cherry Angiomas: The treated area may raise and look like a bee-sting. Do not worry this is perfectly normal. The redness will subside in a few hours.

General advice for all skin lesions in the case of all lesions, over the next 24 hours the area will go darker and develop a crust on the surface. Do not pick this off. When it naturally falls away you will see new skin which is a shiny pink colour. This is not scarring. It will re pigment over the following weeks and could take several months. • The histamine in the area which was treated will create an itchy sensation for between ten and sixty minutes, do not worry this is perfectly normal. • Do not pick the treated area at any time after treatment otherwise the area will take longer to heal. If a wheel/scab is knocked off accidentally it will also take longer to heal, but you should still have the same outcome of a successful treatment. • Please use a sunblock factor 50 on any pigmentation removal until it has re-pigmented, this may take up to eight weeks. • You can continue to use make up, deodorant or perfumes on treated areas but try and leave for as long as you can on the day of treatment. • If the small crust has not fallen off after four weeks, please wait until it has done so before contacting the clinic. Skin sometimes takes several weeks and even months to regenerate. • If the skin being treated is tanned, please remember the healing skin will no longer be tanned. It will eventually re-pigment as it matures. • Permanent alopecia can occur in a treated area which is usually covered with hair. • Treatments that do not heal after six weeks should be reviewed by your doctor or dermatologist. Please contact us to tell us if this happens
