Dermal Fillers can help restore our skin to its former youthful, fuller appearance and treat signs of ageing. Over time, as the skin ages, it loses some of its collagen and fat – the natural underlying material that gives the skin structure and prevents your skin from sagging – and thus, the skin becomes wrinkled. Dermal fillers are pure crystal-clear Hyaluronic acid (HA) gels which, when injected into the skin, replenish the natural HA which is lost through ageing – delivering action where it is needed.
Facial Filler Injections boosts the skin’s own hydration system and restores youthful volume by supporting the skin’s structure and working at a deep dermal level to help delay the signs of ageing. Dermal fillers are injected gently with very fine needles into areas of the skin where it needs to be plumped-up and made to look firmer. The treatment can have an enormously positive effect on your appearance and self-esteem.
Fillers are available with different viscosity for different areas. In general, the thicker the filler product, the deeper it will be injected into the dermal layer of the skin to help even out fine to deep lines and wrinkles. Fillers are mixed with a local anaesthetic so the injections are comfortable. A topical anaesthetic cream can also be applied to help make it more comfortable.
Teresa uses the leading brands that have a good safety profile and include Restylane Perlane® and Emervel®. These are used to treat all areas of the face including lips, cheeks and tear-troughs.
Restylane Vital® (Skin-boosters) is more specifically formulated for its hydrating boost to the skin and can treat face, hands, neck and décolletage. The best option for your treatment will be discussed at your consultation.
