WHAT PROBLEMS CAN WE TREAT:
Scar Fading Treatment
Stretch Mark Treatment
The Dermapen™ is a revolutionary micro-needling device which aims to tighten, lift and rejuvenate skin. The Dermapen™ can visibly improve the appearance of:
- fine lines
- surgical, acne and trauma scars
- stretch marks
When the needle tip contacts the skin, the needles create tiny puncture in the skin’s surface, causing micro-trauma, and inducing an immune response, and subsequently, the creation of new healthy collagen. The punctures also act as micro-channels that carry topical nutrients used during the treatment deep into skin layers for an increased effect. Because the needles oscillate as quickly as they do, the tip of the Dermapen™ easily glides across the skin, without catching or causing any dermal tearing.
This small, easy to operate device is able to produce similar, if not better, results to a fractional laser, without the risk of hyper or hypo-pigmentation, as well as other side effects and downtime associated with these effective, but potentially damaging ablative heat based treatments.
Micro-needling is minimally invasive, requiring no downtime.
It is considered safe for most people who are in overall good health. The procedure is not safe for people who use certain acne medications or for women who are pregnant.
You will experience minor redness and irritation for a few days after the procedure.
It is considered effective in treating minor scarring related to acne, wounds, and aging. You will likely notice brighter, firmer skin, too.
Ideal results are achieved after multiple sessions.
Micro-needling is far more effective than at-home rollers.
What is micro-needling?
Micro-needling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that is used to treat skin concerns via collagen production. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment may help those looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.
It is also used in certain anti-aging procedures, such as eyelid surgery and sunspots. Micro-needling is not effective for hair loss, despite the possible role of collagen in hair growth.
You may be an ideal candidate for this procedure if you are in good health and have certain skin concerns that have not responded to home treatments or other types of dermatologic procedures, such as peels.
This may also be a final step before considering cosmetic surgery for anti-aging and other concerns.
